Hello I am just posting to let you know I am Planning to be in NY for the reunion and some time around that date. no travel plans just yet, kind of hard without a credit card. but i am working on it. Marike will also be at the reunion, but she might not have the same time off that I will have.

We have just opened a new Villa on the property, and I am SOO EXCITED to be putting in so many extra hours because we allowed guests to occupy the villa one and a half hours after the construction crew left. Dishwasher doesn't work, so I do, electrical outlets don't work, so I move the equipment around for what I am using right now, etc. etc.

Not that its all bad. the guests have a much better chance to talk to me because I am there all day, not down in the main kitchen prepping, and delivering the food. the views are nice too, My Kitchen window used to overlook DEADCHEST, (yohoho & a bottle of rum) now I see Norman Island which is the Island R. L. Stevenson used as inspiration for TREASURE ISLAND. Tonight we were doing a bbq and were able to open up the entire back wall of the dining room. Just before Sunset some rain showers passed over Norman Island... Infinity edge pool to crystal clear Caribbean waters (REALLY) to tropical rainfall on a distant Island to pink and purple sunset. It really doesn't get much better than that.

I passed my certification as an open water diver, and have not had any time to dive since. They tell me that's always the way for staff members who take up the activity.

Oh by the way before I forget I was in Print! Conde Nast Traveller UK came and did an article on the Villa program here and I was mentioned so was my food but more to the point I was in the magazine on 1/4 of the page. yep 1/4 of a page glossy magazine photo of me. You will all be able to see the article if you find the UK version of their April 2007 issue.

Any way its late here now and I have to be making breakfast at about 7am so good night and... good luck.

Greetings and salutations. It is just inside the new year, and I am just trying to let you all know I am alive and well. Marike and I are well and working ourselves to the bone. Season has just arrived here on our island and the hotel is full. Too bad we were not able to hire the staff we will need to have everything run smoothlyand still have some time off. Oh well, its not a perfect world anywhere. On the bright side the weather is fantastic 80 something almost every day and just enough wind to keep the sailors happy. Some amazing boats in the harbor here and in the water around the island. I am soo close the being a fully certified diver, and let me tell you the water is amazing here. Other than that there are no really newsworthy things for this page now. Marike is well and happy (her contact lenses arrived and she can wear sunglasses again). The dogs are good and happy. Work is work. I just figured how to put pictures on this thing, it is so easy.
Both of the phots are from a few days Marike and I spent in St.Maarten. I am on the Beach in Anse Marcel and the one of M. is from our balcony at the Hotel Marquis also in Anse Marcel. We had an awesome time and would recommend St. Maarten to anyone. Well thats all for now talk to you all again soon. KC

Hello this thing on? pooth pooth. Testing testing one two three.
The rumors of my demise are greatly exagerated. I am alive and well and living in the BVI. sorry it has taken me so long to get caught up to date on the blog thing but there is no internet at my house. there is at work, but when I am there I feel I should be earning my keep not goofin off on the computer. I know there are computers for internet access all over the islands but they are mostly in bars for the sailors. you all wouldnt want me to go to a bar would you? everything is great I love my job though at times it seems to be harder than it should be. Marike is well we had a little scare with her eye buckle this week but the dr. in Miami said everything looks fine and there is no need to worry, she has to go back in 6 mos. for another exam. the dogs are well and adjusting to life in the tropics(they sleep all day). well I will try to write something again sooner. love to you all

Well I am still here in The Hague. We have recieved the paperwork from the Islands and called our "Huisarts". Thats the Family practitioner here. He was closing his office, as we were chatting, for his vacation. No problem he said just call one of my colleagues on this list and they will be able to complete the last details. All Repeat All of the doctors on his list were unwilling to complete this last stage of the paperwork without making us pay for all of the tests and vaccinations again with them so they could verify the accuracy of the results. So we are waiting for our regular guy to return.
In the meantime our phone has been turned off and we are arranging the pickup of our shipment of household goods. Thank you mister cell phone. We are shipping our stuff with a company called Worldwide Baggage Services. They specialize in the shipping of household goods as freight. they can do air freight or sea freight. we are sending our stuff over the high seas. Not only is it cheaper but we can have it shipped directly to Tortola without having to change hands on another island before reaching the final destination. Golfers and sportsmen should check them out as they can have your stuff waiting for you at the gate upon arrival. I just think thats snazzy.
On Sunday we are vacating our apartment to go and stay with Marike's parents until we actually fly out. It might be nice to stay with them a little before we go. They have an apartment with a large forest across the street. The dogs absolutely love it. Thank goodness we didn't have a car here and would have to just now get used to mass transport.
Just as a side bar its cold here. Damn cold. Real cold. My feet feel like blast frozen steaks. I cant wait for the sun. Tonight the temp will drop below 0 and tomorrow they say it won't get any warmer during the day then it will hit 6 BELOW during the night.
Well that's enough for now.

Hello world. This is kc's blog kicking off. I am still not sure what this blog will be about other than me. Something big, something grand, something for the people, something that will change the conciousness of the world not just the nation. ...Maybe my dogs.
That would not be very interesting though would it. I think I will just stick with what's interesting in my life.
Right now I am living in Rijswijk, a suburb of The Hague, in the Netherlands. However we are packing and moving to the British Virgin Islands. We will live on Tortola and work for a resort on a nearby Island. We were very fortunate to get the jobs and work permits, and are looking forward to taking advantage of this awesome opportunity.
Don't get me wrong Holland wasn't bad. I have loved everyday I have spent here, however a series of unfortunate events have led to a complete reduction of my reserve funds, and the Jobbie Job front here doesn't look as good right now as the Islands do. So off to see the lizard as the song goes.
I will try to post again when we get to Tortola. Tot ziens.
